Condition water with a toddler

Heading up there camping over jubilee, I love hiking in the lakes but it's my first visit with my 2 year old in tow!

Any recommendations? I'm concerned the popular parks will be heaving and no fun.

Did you mean Coniston Water?

Wray Castle
South Lakes Zoo
Grizedale Forest
Fellfoot Park
Crazy golf in Ambleside
Walk up Gummer’s Howe - very simple walk, Dd did it at 2.5. It’s not that far - you can drive up the road a lot of the way!
Walk round Tarn Hows
Peter Rabbit stuff in Hawkshead

Yes I did mean Coniston sorry!

That's loads to go at thanks so much.

Wray Castle itself is now a bit rubbish for small children. The play trail was damaged in Storm Arwen and was closed last time I checked. The Peter Rabbit Adventure rooms are permanently closed.
Instead, you could catch the Green Cruise ferry from Wray to Brockhole, which has some amazing things for a toddler to do and some easy walking trails. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the jetty at Brockhole to the visitors centre. To get back from Brockhole to Wray, the ferry takes you via Ambleside. It’s a bit of a trek from the jetty to the town centre, but there are some cafes and ice cream at the water’s edge.

I’m pretty sure that The Sun in Coniston has a large climbing fort with slide, plus a decent kids menu.

That’s a shame about Wray Castle!! It used to be our favourite when the DC were little. Not so bothered about the Peter Rabbit adventure. Good shout on Brockholes.

This Superworm trail launches at Grizedale just in time for the weekend www.forestryengland.uk/grizedale/superworm-trail-grizedale

Amazing thanks so much for those I'll google them when I get home later.

Great idea with the pub lunch/play park. Really excited to get her on a boat too, such an adventure for little legs!

Slightly relived I don't have to drag myself up a mountain this trip as I'm so not mountain fit!!
