Is Chatsworth worth a visit?

We are going to be near the Peak District, so I was thinking about visiting Chatsworth. I will be with my husband and our 4 year old, so I thought the farm and playground would be great, but what about the house and gardens - is it worth visiting with a toddler?

If you can do them separately then gardens are good but wouldn’t do the house with a toddler

I love Chatsworth but agree that I wouldn't bother with the house with a toddler in tow. The gardens are lovely though, and worth a visit.

The house and gardens are lovely, but the house perhaps not so much with a toddler. The gardens are very child friendly , with fountains you can paddle in etc. Always felt less formal than other places.

The gardens are amazing for kids plus there's parkland to go for extended walks.

The house is really good. When we went one of us sat having lunch with the kids/dogs and the other went in the house, then we swapped

The stables have a restaurant and a cafe and a great big shop so there's loads to do so that the person in the house doesn't feel under pressure to hurry round

The farm and playground are great for that age, the house less so.

The grounds are beautiful and you just pay for parking. Bring a picnic if you are on a budget because the cafe is £££ (but delicious cake) not done the farm as mine are grown and dogs not allowed

The gardens and adventure playground are great for kids. There is a lovely shop in the court yard and a couple of nice places to eat too.
