I need a good efficient advice as I time wise I’m strapped so I will be in a big rush.
I plan to travel to London by train next week on working day around 10.30am- should arrive in Kings Cross railway station.
I need to get to High Street Kensington asap and the back to King cross on the railway station again.
what would the quickest and cheapest way to get there?
I am thinking to jump on Victoria line to go to the Victoria Station and then to change to Circle line.what I worry that there are long walks between the platforms?
is there any better way?
In regards the fare, is it contactless the best with capping?
like £2.40 to get me to High S Ken?

I usually get on the circle line at kings cross and change at Edgware Road for High Street Kensington.

Oh and yes I pay contactless with my card, just remember to tap out at the end of your journey.

Download the CityMapper app and it will tell you in real time the quickest route.

@Linnet thankyou.
Is that way quicker than going on Victoria station?
perfect

I would also go via Edgeware road - it's simpler and probably quicker

Redcupbluecuppa · 08/05/2022 12:28

Use CityMapper, it will tell you everything you need to know.

I've never gone through Victoria station, I've always gone via Edgeware road. It's very straight forward and quick.

I'd also go via Edgware Road. It's a very simple change. I hate Victoria.

Another option would be Piccadilly line to Gloucester Road and then either walk (10-15 mins) or Circle line to HSK.

Thank you.
Someone local told me that if I take Circle line from KingsCross it’s 9 stops only to High S Ken, Is that right, I looked it up and and I’m bit confused as it looks like I have to change in Edgware Road?

Victoria line and changing at Victoria is the quickest way showing on city mapper.

Yes, you have to change. The circle line isn't a circle any longer so you need to get the circle/Hammersmith and City line westbound towards Hammersmith. Then at Edgware Road, you change on to the start of the circle line loop. It is 9 stops in total but with a change in the middle (6 stops to Edgware Road and 3 from there to HSK)
