My DH, 14 month DS and I will be in Manchester for a week in July. Also need somewhere for a fancy lunch/dinner for one of the days and best place for an Almond latte. We are traveling from Australia for my DH Masters Grad.

Home is suitable for taking small children early evening Home
Likewise Don Marco or Dimitri's on Deansgate
You should a trip to the "curry mile" in Rusholme one evening.
Sam's Chop House is a bit of a manchester institution.
There's the "better end" of chain restaurants such as Hawksmoor, Dishoom, The Ivy, and Fazenda round Spinningfields.
Have a search round the Northern Quarter too, I'm not up to speed on that side of town, it's changed a lot since i lived there!

KALA - King Street, great food. Affordable
Mana - Michelin star, expensive but I've heard only great reviews
Tattu - in Spinningfields, modern Chinese, great decor.
Mughli - located in Curry Mile, authentic Indian food, so good

We have eaten in all of the following with children and we’re made to feel very welcome.

The Refuge is not to be missed and their Sunday roast is something else.

Almond milk is available practically anywhere. Factory coffee is take away great - as are their artisan doughnuts.
Cafe at the Cathedral does a good Almond or Oat Latte too plus THE BEST bacon roll in the UK!

Tast Catala for a special meal and Ducie St too.

Yard and Coop for a stuff the diet pig out night.

Bab for mezze to share.

Black leaf for tapas.

The Ivy is a chain but a decent one.

Can you tell we like a weekend or two in Manchester each year?!

El Gato Negro for tapas
