London VRBO/hotels -aug 2022

Hi all. I'm from NYC and have not been to the UK in 10+ years.
I am looking to rent a furnished flat in London for 10-15 days in August 2022 - near the ExCel Centre (my son will be competing in Pokemon Worlds). 4 ppl total - kids are 13 & 15 boys. We will be doing regular tourist stuff as well as competing. Where to look for a rental other than the usual VRBO, etc?

All leads, advice, etc welcome and appreciated!

Beware VRBO ! Any body else booked with VRBO-? We arrived at cottage found ants crawling over floor-spiders ++, dust, bugs, flies- Photos taken and sent to VRBO and host. We vacuum-dust-decide to leave. Advise VRBO.Advise host-
Result- VRBO state that the Host will dictate if any refund is owed. ‘ Nothing to do with Vrbo’
£520 lost!
Has anyone had a VRBO nightmare holiday.
Found a fab canal side Hotel for £30 less p/n and will never book thru Vrbo again.
