London hotel advice

I'm looking to book a London Hotel room, one night for one person for a weekend in September. Looking at travel lodges, Premier inns near Waterloo, Coventry garden etc and they're all coming up as over £150. I thought price would go down after holidays! Where do you stay at a reasonable price when you go and am I missing something to get a good rate?

My DD just stayed at the Hub by Premier Inn in Shoreditch for £75 a night. Rooms are small but clean and modern and they do a good breakfast for £7 (with cooked options). You also have access to free tea and coffee all day in the lobby.

My DD really liked it. There are other Hub hotels in London but their price varies.

Maybe have a look on the website

Have you looked at Airbnb? You could probably get a room for less on there.

I have got the Travelodge in waterloo for £50 before - that was a Sunday. Guess weeknights may be more but might also be worth comparing other weeks in case there's an event on that pushing up prices.

You don’t say what date. A quick search gives London Holborn at £80 on 11th September. Unless they add to it as you progress through booking not sure how you’ve only got £150. It’s handy for the Piccadilly line. Walkable to Covent Garden.

Sorry premier inn I should have said

£150 a night is fairly standard (I used to live in London).

If you don’t mind a train ride in, the Holiday Inn Express in Wandsworth is OK and might be a bit cheaper. Two minutes’ walk from Wandsworth Town station which is ~20 minutes into Waterloo. And there are some nice little cafes and places to eat on Old York Road nearby.

Travel lodge walthamstow? Right on top of Walthamstow village and the tube.

Check lastminute and Expedia often good hotels will come up cheaper than premier inn/travelodge at quiet times.

I use Google Maps - Try this link, enter your dates and budget and it will show you prices and availability.

Travel Lodge and Premier Inn's are usually affordable and usually come in under £150

BlanketsBanned · 03/05/2022 15:44

Saturday night is always the most expensive

nearlyspringyay · 03/05/2022 15:46

Sounds about right tbh.

mumonthehill · 03/05/2022 15:46

Premier inn county hall is in a great location

Comefromaway · 03/05/2022 15:48

Covent Garden Premier Inn is always about twice the price as all the others. Try Kings Cross, County Hall, South Kensington or Holborn.

TokyoSushi · 03/05/2022 15:53

Also just about to recommend Premier Inn hub, try the one at Kings X, it's fab and super cheap!
