Lunch in Covent Garden

I have a day in London in a couple of weeks with an exhibition planned for the morning and a matinee of a musical in the afternoon, all in the Covent Garden area. Whereabouts would be good for lunch? Would prefer to stay in the Covent Garden area and will be on my own.

Wahaca was really good when DS and I went last week.

Ave Mario with the neon lit toilets is interesting but the food is hit or miss. A lot of popular places in Covent Garden itself are not all that worth it. Rules is one of the better places. We ate along The Strand yesterday (just behind the National Gallery) where the dining options were much more 'grown up' than Covent Garden proper.

We went to one of the Savoy places but there is also Smith &Wollensky , Mr Fogg's etc.

Clos Magggiore and La Goccia

At La Goccia you can sit at the bar and watch the chefs prepare the food. I’ve sat there before and it would be nice if you were dining solo
