Hi

im looking to book a long weekend in Wales for me Hubby and 6month old son. Never been to Wales but have heard it has lovely beaches and a lot cheaper than Devon/Cornwall.

what towns would you recommend? Ideally looking for somewhere with nice beach and walking routes. Don’t want anywhere too small.

Thank you

Mumbles, Tenby or Conwy. Tenby is probably the best for walks.

I believe Pembrokeshire is beautiful, and I was advised to go to Saundersfoot.
Not been yet though !

Llandudno

Where are you starting from and how far are you willing to drive? Pembrokeshire is nice, but would be a long drive if you're starting from the north.

The Llyn peninsula is incredibly lovely, as is Anglesey. Remember to factor in driving times and fuel costs as there's a lot of land between the England border and the Welsh coast. It take me four plus hours to drive from my home on the North Wales coast down to family in Pembrokeshire

It depends where you are travelling from.

We love North Wales. Llandudno, Conwy, Betws-Y-Coed and Snowdonia are all just beautiful. Some lovely places to walk in Snowdonia, with lakes and waterfalls, as well as nice restaurants and cafes.

We've never been to South Wales, but I would love to 😍

The North is excellent as its so different drive for 20 minutes and you can go from beaches to mountains, loads going on but tranquility of you want it some ideas here

Llandudno would be an excellent base, plenty going on and two beaches,
Other places nearby Conwy Valley etc or inland to Llangollen or Bala.
This quiet beach is 10 mins drive from Llandudno
