We are considering going for 2 weeks as our summer holiday
I have no idea of what's there for the los etc. Would we need to travel between islands much?

Our other choice is N Cornwall (Polzeath area) has anyone got any recommendations for cottages?

TIA

I had a feeling it may be boring for a lond stay - maybe we'll head to N Cornwall and try a daytrip...

Any inspiration about where to stay in N Cornwall? We'd like to be near Polzeath as dd is desperate to try surfing and we vaguely know the area from pervious holidays

Ignore them, Scilly Isles fab but it'll be hard to find somewhere for 2 weeks as it gets very booked up. One week would be enough for a first time, trips between islands are a must, great fun! No surfing but lots of sailing.

I spent 6 wks there some yrs ago and it is so lovely but you need to be prepared for what is there.... ie nothing apart from what nature provides!

Yes you would need to travel between the islands (that is part of the fun - ie going on lots of boats) and what there is to do really is just walking and beach stuff.

It is such a beautiful place though - a great place to recharge batteries and a really interesting insight into island life. I was just blown away by the fact it is part of the UK. But, depending on the age of the kids it might not be the best hol destination if they are pretty young and lots of walking isn't a good idea.

Thanks, they will be 7 and 4 by the time we go...not sure how much they'd get out of it as 2 week holiday. I'll consider it as a few days at the beginnning/end of a holiday elsewhere in Cornwall perhaps...
It does look beautiful though...

The area around Penzannce where you would travel from is lovely. Why not do a 2 centre break? Sennen is nice and you can surf there. Treen and Porthcurno also special. St Ives is not far way as a base would provide the bustle as a contrast. We go every year!
