Glasgow in the rain with a 12yo?

We're arriving tomorrow for two days. I've never been before. I was planning to go up to Loch Lomond and walk a trail or two but the weather looks like solid rain. Any ideas of things to do with a 12yo? We're staying in Bearsden and have a hire car.

The science museum is amazing. My 14 yr old loved it.

There’s loads to fill a couple of rainy days with.

Kelvingrove museum. I think the lunchtime organ performances are back on.
Riverside museum
Newly reopened Burrell Collection in Pollok park is excellent, and you can get a bit of a walk there.

Kelvingrove and Riverside are great museums on the same side of the river as Bearsden and there are lots of independent eateries in the West End on Argyle Street. There is a huge car park at the Riverside (a smaller one at Kelvingrove). The Riverside also has the Tall Ship which is a bit different.

Brilliant, I'll have a look. Thankyou!

Buy raincoats & go to Loch Lomond. You won’t melt, although the view won’t be terrific.
I do agree with all of the above suggestions too re the museums.

The plan is to come back every couple of months or so, so there's time to see Loch Lomond in hopefully better weather.

Riverside museum and tallship, Kelvingrove Art Gallery, The Science Centre (its got a cool flight simulator thing just opened for booking that would be fun), Soar@Braehead has indoor skiing/sledding, laser tag, climbing walls, high ropes activities etc, theres loads to do, just depends what he is in to?
Could also get train to Edinburgh for the Castle, the Royal Yacht Britannia which is fab, Camera Obscura is good for that age too

Thanks for all the suggestions. We're at the science centre today. It's brilliant - I wish we had one nearer home!
