Hotels close to 02 arena?

I'm going to see a concert in London at the 02 and looks like I'll be going in my own. Any recommendations of places to stay near by or easy to get to by train/tube from the 02? Worried about being out on my own late in the evening. Thanks.

Whats the budget, what station are you arriving at. The 02 is really easy to get to on the riverbus, it has its own landing pier so you could stay anywhere really.

Intercontinental is attached to the o2 if you’re quick enough (normally sells out quickly)

Arcadia · 31/03/2022 11:25

@BlanketsBanned is it busy around there at night? I have no concept! It will be a Thursday evening. Don't know what time the show will end.
Could afford up to around £150.

@Backtothefutureagain it's about £250 which i think is a bit much.
Alternative is to cab it to far reaches if SE London and stay at my brothers ... but also nervous about getting a cab alone at night

We're staying in the travel lodge by London city soon. That's not a million miles away.

dreamingbohemian · 31/03/2022 11:30

The O2 is on the jubilee line so as long as the show ends before the tube stops running, you could stay anywhere on that line.

I would stay in Greenwich, its got a lovely park, cafes and places to eat then get the uber riverboat straight to the 02 which takes about 30 mins and you can see the sights from the river. The boat lands at the 02 and its about a 10min walk to the arena, there are also loads of places ro eat and drink at the 02. Are you arriving in london by train. There are 2 stations in greenwich, a mainline and the dLR to Cutty Sark.

There’s a holiday inn express Right next to it

Arcadia · 31/03/2022 12:06

@BlanketsBanned do the boats run late?

OP posts:
Arcadia · 31/03/2022 12:07

@AHungryCaterpillar I think that one is full

We stayed at Tower Bridge premier inn when we went to a concert at the o2 at Christmas. Simple easy journey with a the bonus of a papa John's across the road which was still open after the concert !

dreamingbohemian · 31/03/2022 12:25

I don't think the boats run that late, and they're only every half hour later in the day. Much better off taking the tube. Check the premier inns around london bridge and waterloo.

BlanketsBanned · 31/03/2022 12:39

The last boat back is about 9.30 but getting it one way is a lovely way to travel, you can get it from many piers and the p.i. at city hall waterloo is good and near the tube, buses and boat.

That sounds like a lovely thing to do but might save it fir another trip as I will have very little time to play with!

The nearest is the Holiday Inn Express in North Greenwich - it's about a 10 minute walk from the O2. The Ibis Canary Wharf/Docklands is also good & means that you get the Tube back eastwards, when most of the crowd are going west! There are always plenty of people about - I have come out of the O2 loads of times on my own at night.

That's good to know, that it will be busy around there. Happy to be with the crowds!
