Things to do in London with DC (11&7)

Going to London with DC for 4 nights next week. Have already booked Natural History Museum & theatre. Plan to do a bit of sightseeing - Buckingham Palace/Big Ben etc plus no doubt we’ll do Lego shop/hamleys etc.

what else would you recommend for kids of 11&7?

Skygarden free tickets all gone so that’s out.
Is Tower of London or London Eye worth the money?
Always hear there’s lots to do on the South bank but what?

The Tower of London is worth the money. There’s so much to see and do, and it’s all done so well. I think you need to spend at least 3 hours there to see the highlights and get your money’s worth. Personally I'd allocate a whole day. Even if you’re not actually there from opening to closing there’s a lot of walking and information to take in during your visit and lots of tramping around outdoors.
Wonderlab at the science museum is excellent.
I’d also recommend the Museum of London. They have a brilliant section about the Great Fire of London that my dc absolutely loved when they were learning about it at school. The fact it’s in the city also means it tends to be quieter than some of the more high-profile London museums and attractions. Ideal if you’re a bit fed up of crowds.

ONe of the city farm? Vauxhall city farm is handy for central london. Or there is one at Gospel Oak and take in Hampstead Heath? A ride on the riverboat (get oysters for the kids and the commuter one is cheaper than the tourist one) down to greenwich for outside cutty sark and greenwich park. Emirates skyride- cheaper with oyster and if you go one way. Golden Hinde ship is good and on southbank. Pools Play ground at victoria park is amazing if its a nice day, bit of a walk as it is in the middle.
