North London "park and ride"

Do any of you know if it is possible to drive to Brent Cross, park, and take the tube into Central London for the day?

Or does anyone know of any areas in North London that are easy to get to from the M1 and park in (even if paying, as long it's not exorbitant) and convenient to travel into London from?

Stanmore tube (end of the jubilee line) has parking, not too expensive and is very close to the M1.
