Dd and I are visiting next week. I am planning to park and ride on Monday (am not insane, I know oxford shit parking is legendary) BUT
I was thinking about walking round a bit in Sunday night. Is parking ok in the evening? Any suggestions?

Which park and ride? Where are you staying?

Try St Giles on Sunday eve - should be fine. You have to pay and it's not cheap, but you'll probably get a space. If no good, Oxford parking's best kept secret: Mansfield Road. You also have to pay even on Sunday i think but there really should be spaces.

Avoid the Botley Road at all costs atm. It is never great but the current roadworks are operatically terrible.

I've got good central spaces in Oxford using JustPark quite a few times.

Thanks. We're staying at Cowley premier inn and then heading east later on Monday so somebody on here had said Redbridge or Thornhill park and ride?

The Westgate centre car park is only £3.50 for the evening and never that busy once shops are closed. I always park there even in the day in the week, it’s cheaper than anywhere else. Impossible to park there during the day at the weekend though unless you get there before 10 am.
