Next New Years Eve London - help!

Am fed up with dreary NYE's and last decided that next year will take kids to watch fireworks by the London Eye! Actually with a view of fireworks would be ace. Can anyone recommend a 4-5 star hotel within walking distance (as assume getting taxi after midnight would be tricky?)

Will the remodeled Savoy be open by then?

Could also try www.onealdwych.co.uk or www.firmdale.com which is the site for the Covent Garden hotel. They also own the Haymarket Hotel, which presumably is very nice too.

What about The Marriott at County Hall, that's right next to the London Eye. Wd thoroughly rec One Aldwych too.
