Is it a bit like the airlines - the earlier you book the better rate?

Anyone know what are the cheapest nights of the week and if you get any discounts for multiple bookings ie number of people and or consecutive number of nights

Sundays always seem to be the cheapest night to book and yes, it's best to book well in advance on a Saver rate. These are non refundable but you can change the date if your plans change. You'll have to pay the difference if the price goes up (or get a small refund if it goes down).

When we were booking 3 years ago, the cheapest Zone 1 locations were Angel and Monument. Don’t have any other hot tips.

If the one you want doesn’t have availability for 1 night try for 2 or 3 nights (make sure you can cancel the additional) sometimes they keep some back for longer stays

Aldgate.
I stayed in Archway for £35 a night. It's above the Northern Line Tube. 20 minutes in

I had no idea that they do this! Have you cancelled additional nights before? Can you cancel selected nights on the online booking, or do you have to call up the customer service line to do it? I have been trying to book a room for an event I'm going to in London on a Saturday in June - every single Premier Inn says they are sold out. When I put in a stay for Friday-Sunday, suddenly loads of availability! Thanks for the tip!

I’ve cancelled online or by calling the help desk and by calling the hotel. one I cancelled the additional nights when I checked in obvs it has to be a flexible booking but yeah no problem what so ever just make sure to take a note of the cancellation number (although I’ve never needed to use it - it’s reassuring to have it). @Twoweeksandcounting

Just like airlines it varies. Sundays are usually cheaper and county hall is usually the most expensive. The Hubs have very small rooms but fine for 1.

Depending on where you need to get to, staying in zone 2 but on the right tube line might work out best value

Try accor hotels, they have various budget lines. If it's just sleep and wash then an ibis might do
