Hi

Im meeting a friend for lunch in London on Sat

What would be a good place for lunch or brunch. Or bottomless brunch?

We're both outside London these days, travelling in to waterloo so anywhere central, bankside, can travel a bit

Nothing too formal.

Just feel a bit out of touch after the pandemic

Thanks!

I don’t like the bottomless brunches, I’ve yet to find anyone that does it well!

For just brunch/lunch-

Megan’s are a small restaurant chain and they’re lovely. Great decor and brunch.

Grind on London Bridge is very buzzy

The Brasserie of Light attached to Selfridges is lovely.

Caravan Bankside or Where The Pancakes Are

My favourite brunch spot is Berners Tavern. Absolutely beautiful and the food is delicious.

Dim sum in Chinatown
Din tai fung on the top floor of Selfridges
Honey & Co In Fitzrovia
Dishoom in Soho

Chichetti at Covent Garden for lunch. Lovely Italian tapas style

Have Starter and main course at 12.

Walk around London/ book tickets to free art gallery or museum.

Later in the afternoon have dessert.

If you like wine, Noble Rot - either Lamb's Conduit Street or Soho - would be my choice. Not so much brunch as lunch, but great by the glass selection of wines.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 10/02/2022 17:32

Are you doing anything else, or just lunch?

The Wolseley is nice and central and always fun.

Zodlebud · 10/02/2022 17:42

Dehesa for tapas - just off Carnaby Street.

Or the bottomless brunch at Roka (Aldwych).

For lunch I like either one of the Cote restaurants or Brasserie Blanc. Good food, reasonable prices, good service.

Not sure if they do their lunchtime deals at the weekend, but if they do they are great value.

Thanks everyone. I shall explore all of these suggestions

Caravan Bankside or Where The Pancakes Are
Caravan Bankside has really gone downhill. It used to be one of my favourite places pre-Covid but we went recently and it wasn't good. Really poor service, the food was meh and the place was rammed. Really disappointing and I had to apologise to my friend for suggesting there. :-(

This is an award winning Aussie run business - they have 4 in London Scarlet Green in Soho is my personal favourite - Ziggy Green is also glam - v insta brunch - but the food, service and atmosphere are excellent
