It looks amazing but so booked up. Anywhere else similar?

Gilpin Hotel and Lake House
Lime Wood

What aspects of The Pigs are you drawn to? Is it the in-room spa facilities, or just the general feel?

thebigpurpleone · 31/01/2022 20:12

The private spa facilities just seem amazing!

The Harper

I have to say, personally I would try and hold out a bit longer for The Pigs, and go when they do have some availability. It is just so lovely, and the food is amazing too!

thebigpurpleone · 31/01/2022 20:32

I can't believe how booked up it is

It is ridiculous, particularly the more expensive/exclusive rooms.
I haven’t stayed anywhere else with in room spa facilities, but a couple of nice options are The Hoste Arms in Burnham Market, which has gorgeous rooms, a spa on site, and really amazing food. And The Crown in Wells-next-the-sea, where they have copper bath rooms - some of them (including the one we stayed in) have copper baths outside on a private balcony or terrace. We went in February one year, it was freezing outside, but amazing to have a hot bath under the stars!

Thank you all some new places for me to follow up on.

Been there a couple of times, didn't rate the food and found the whole thing a bit of a let down. The website is miles more glossy than the reality. Miles.

Crazy Bear hotels are fun, if they're still a thing. And the Hoste Arms as PP said. Superb food.

Is this the place? www.thepigs.org.uk

I've also heard the Gilpin Hotel is amazing and we're hoping to go soon!

thebigpurpleone · 03/02/2022 23:01

@SSMH yes it is

You could try the hayloft at the ffolkes - same people as the pigs.

Sign up for a Norfolk passport as it is free and gives you 10% off at the pigs and some other places.

There are lots of nice pub places to stay in Norfolk: I’ve tried white horse in brancaster, kings head in letheringsett, sculthorpe inn and wiveton bell (also hoste as previously mentioned). All recommended.
