50th birthday weekend London

My DH is 50 next July and I need to start planning the weekend away.
He wants to go to London and I am looking for recommendations for luxury hotels that are not stuffy!

We went to Le Manoir last year for my big birthday and we really liked the setting and relaxed feel there. Appreciate that in London we won’t get the same sort of set up but is there somewhere that is a hidden gem that you would recommend?

Thanks

I love Hotel 41 in Victoria. You’d walk past the door without noticing it, between the big hotel and restaurants next door, but it’s glorious inside. Luxurious without being ostentatious. And wonderfully located for most of town.

If you liked Le Manoir, you should go to Le Gavroche for dinner.

I always recommend the Firmdale Hotels
especially the Covent Garden Hotel.

Thank you brocolibush and squeaver will have a look. Le Gavroche was definitely on the list.

The Treehouse Hotel for something a little quirky. And quite possibly the best views ever!

Hi fly recommend the St Martins Lane. Great location, super cool and friendly and will go out of thief way to make it special if you let them know the occasion

The Connaught is lovely and not stuffy.

If you loved Le Manoir then for similarly amazing cooking try Claude Bosi at Bibendum. His food at Hibiscus was incredible.

You can’t beat Claridges for a special occasion

Hawksmoor if you are steak and cocktail people. Faultless every single time and at every branch. The new one at Canary Wharf looks amazing but I have a soft spot for Air Street. I don't think I've eaten anywhere that is so consistent year after year. Also worth noting their approach to staff and the pandemic, very vocally put their people first.
