Dinner near Birmingham Hippodrome

4 of us are going to watch the ballet at Birmingham Hippodrome next month.

I’m trying to work out where to eat beforehand but none of the reviews on Tripadvisor are particularly inspiring.

Can anyone recommend somewhere please? Needs to suit a pescatarian who won’t eat spicy or Indian food.

Miyako Teppanyaki is really nice and good fun.
Meat Shack is regarded as one of the best burger places in the city.
Mythos is a Greek place and is pretty good, not a thrill but solid ok.
Chung Ying is the oldest Chinese in the city, and it is great. The Hippodrome is in the Chinese quarter so most of the nearby restaurants are East Asian.

Those are the only few that stand out as being good super close to Hippodrome. Do you want somewhere fancy that will feel like a treat or more casual? And how close is close enough? If you are willing to walk 20 minutes it opens up a lot more choice.

That’s very helpful, thank you @SummaLuvin. We all like Chinese.

Also willing to walk a bit further. Doesn’t need to be cheap but I don’t think we’ll want really fancy either.

The arcadian has a las iguanas. If you venture about 10 mins away on john bright street there’s the stable- pizza and pies, there’s also turtle bay but that can be spicy

Or for cheap and cheerful the dragon inn is a Wetherspoons 1 minute walk away 😂
