Looking for reccomendations as above. Want cheap accommodation but 2 rooms -after an evening sitting in the bathroom as the children slept in the hotel room last year!!

Premier inns can do adjoining rooms. I think it’s usually two family rooms.

Holiday inn Express also do interconnecting rooms.

Holiday Inn usually do too. I think a lot of the bigger chains such as Marriott and Hilton but they'd be more expensive. Your other option is to look at something like a serviced apartment or AirBnB (which i know is a foul language in some cities!)

Did you find anywhere OP? Accor (Novotel, etc) do connecting rooms with the second half price as a family offer. We went to Llandudno a couple of years back and stayed in a B&B family room with separate bedroom for the kids, slept 5 altogether. Fullers do family rooms with separate bunk rooms in some hotels, all pub hotels though and not sure if that's what you'd want? Some Radisson hotels have good family set ups, depends on hotel though.

Holiday inn and Hilton have some family suites. If you are willing to consider Scotland the Britannia (was Hilton but changed hands) near aviemore had great 2 bed family suites but I haven't stayed since they changed chain, Britannia isn't the best!
