Guernsey for a short break/week

We'd like to go to Guernsey in July for a short break or maybe a week. It seems really expensive. Any ideas for a budget holiday there? We'd be happy to camp and bring the car or stay at a yha type place.

I have a friend there so I was going to go visit them.. and my goodness it was expensive!! Was over a grand for two of us to fly and stay there!!
Not enough room to stay with them or we’d be staying there.. I’d rather go somewhere more exotic for the money it would have cost me to go there.
I was actually astounded at how expensive it was so am following this to see if you get any recommendations!

Not really a family destination I would say.....very expensive ....you can’t rely on the weather even in summer ......Nice day trips to Herm and or Sark.... probs need to hire a car to see the island....lots of nice pubs .....was fine for 2 adults not sure I would have holidayed there with my 3 when they were young

Not good news so far! Eldest DD will be taking part in a sporting event so thought it could become a family holiday- maybe not.

I am in Guernsey, Aurigny the local airline has a sale on flights at the moment. I got a return to BHX in June for £105, which is good for Guernsey prices.
You can camp, there are about 3 or 4 campsites. Fauxquet Valley is good, I have friends that go and stay there in the summer.

We had a weekend there for kids and loved it, can't remember the name of the hotel. Everything was ££££. Weather was shite but you can guarantee it anywhere. Not sure I'd go back.

It would be a very expensive one.....if you are also planning on another fun holiday..And have the money to do both.....then do it....but if this is to be your only holiday it could well be a disappointment......we used to stop in guernsey on our way to Western France when my 3 were small.....we had around 5 hours ( change of ferry) to walk around St. Peter port town and harbour.....kids were bored after the first hour....I did enjoy Herm when I went with my partner....and we spent a day cycling around sark on a pub crawl which was good fun.

It is expensive but if you camp and use the buses you will save a lot.

You do not need a hire car, the buses are plentiful and cheap.
