Anyone else going to C Parcs over Christmas/New Year?

I am just reading the 'book with confidence' information and realised that unless we develop COVID symptoms or test positive we aren't actually covered this close to leaving!

This absolutely makes sense if everything stays as it is now and we are able to go to our restaurant bookings and enjoy our pre booked swims. However, what happens if between now and our departure date, government restrictions come in which means we can't do these things when we get there?

It's a lot of money to spend if we can't access facilities Sad

I have checked the CP website and it doesn't mention what happens in this situation. Will we be expected to lose our money if we choose not to go on the holiday, if it's not actually really the holiday we booked?

I’m sure you can cancel for any reason with the book with confidence guarantee. E.g. you’re worried about covid, or you don’t like what CP have on offer… you could message them on Facebook messenger, they’re usually quite quick to get back. Or join the Facebook group Center Parcs Hints & Tips - lots of people will have had experience of this on there.

I’m booked over NY so interested too!

I thought that too but I've just double checked the small print and it seems we are not covered for simply changing our mind (which I assume this would count as) this close to arriving.

If government restrictions make it impossible for a holiday to go ahead they will close and cancel or rearrange it for you. I've had them do this 3 or 4 times and they were great every time and offered me £100 off for rebooking.

If the restrictions just mean everything won't be open, Eg the restaurants and the pool, last time this happened they took a view to still open but offer you some of your money back because of the reduced facilities. Or let you rearrange. I rearranged.

I'm also pretty sure you can just choose to cancel or rearrange for any reason two weeks before. They have actually been really good throughout all of this so I'm sure you'll be fine.

Aarghhh, just wrote a lengthy post which disappeared. We are due to go to Whinfell tomorrow and dont know what to do for the best.

It looks like you can cancel less than 14d out if you have covid/symptoms but not sure I'd this covers changing your mind because your perception of risk has changed.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone has managed to change a booking within 14 days.

In a group I’m on someone was unable to change recently due to changing their mind.

It's less than 2 weeks before we go though. That's the whole point of my post. If you look at my screen shot above, it seems that we are not covered if we just choose not to go any more.

I do know that CP are normally very good at customer service so I'm hoping it will all be ok somehow if restrictions come in. We've had to reschedule this holiday 3 times aleady because of Covid/surgery and this will (hopefully) be our first family holiday in 2.5 years. I know we are lucky to be able to afford a holiday but it is a huge amount of money to lose, or to spend on a holiday if we can't enjoy the facilities which we have paid for.

@BlueShirtGirl ive just had a messahe from CP on FB messenger to say that despite it being less than 14 days to arrival, there will be options for us if government restrictions will affect our stay. They won't confirm what these will be yet but I'm hopeful it will be a partial refund if we choose to go, or a reschedule.

I think our best bet is to wait and see to be honest.

We're due to go early January so we've still got a week or so to make the call but am intrigued to know what CP decide.

I hadn't actually considered much of this (I think because I'm so focused on getting everyone to Christmas Day unscathed!) so thank you so much for this thread.

We are booked for Feb half term - just got the email saying I can book activities from tomorrow and get to book 4 x THREE hour slots in the STSP but when I click through on the link it says the sessions are only TWO hours long.

Could those of you who are already booked tell me how long your STSP sessions are for?

rosesinmygarden · 19/12/2021 14:29

Our swims are 3 hour sessions.

BlueShirtGirl · 19/12/2021 20:11

Thank you @rosesinmygarden
Yep 3 hour sessions

BendingSpoons · 19/12/2021 20:19

We're going in Feb half term. The sessions are 2 hr 59 mins long. Are you trying to book later? You can just turn up after 6 so if you were booking at 4pm it might show as 2 hours.

Tagliatelevision · 19/12/2021 23:15

Thanks all - I called them in the end & it is 3 hours but the click through link to the holding page (as I can't actually book until 8.30am tomorrow morning) still quotes 2 hours

HamCob · 23/12/2021 23:33

We were booked to go to CP this time last year. As soon as restrictions came in they offered the option to rearrange or a full refund.
When restrictions meant the park was open but facilities were limited, they offered a discount for people that went ahead and visited or the option to cancel completely.

We're due to go again at the start of Jan. if they close the pool or restaurants then we will cancel and hopefully get a refund.

OhThatChicken · 24/12/2021 05:33

We were due to go early January too and yesterday we cancelled everything.

Looking to rebook for May or so.
