Kids at Uni - where to stay?

Hi,
I'm finding that my Airbnb apartment is being increasing booked by parents visiting their kids in nearby universities. They can invite them to come and stay over and give them some much needed TLC!
Where do you guys stay when your kids live in halls and you want visit and stay somewhere near (but not too near!)?
I'm interested to see if if I could and should be "marketing" my tiny business in this direction?
Thoughts welcome!

We have a student at Sheffield Uni so we have stayed in the city. We stayed at the Jurys Inn.

Marketing at uni parents sounds like a good idea. You should be able to attract lots of repeat bookings. Repeat bookings will look for consistency. New bookings may need useful local information such as which bus route you are on, local eateries etc.

We always used to stay at the premier inn because we'd only go for one night and it was a major city (we'd meet dc in the city and take them out)

I suppose it depends where your place is and what the competition is - but I'm still not sure how you can market it any differently to appeal to that group.

There a very nice Holiday Inn near my DS's Uni - I like it because I hate sharing a bed with DH and the rooms have two double beds Grin. Personally I wouldn't really choose self catering for a short visit to see my DS as it might mean just doing more cooking like being at home, would rather take DS out for a meal.

I don't know how you go about marketing Air BnB but when my elderly parents visit my brother and family they prefer to stay in a s/c facility .... much easier (on both sides) than staying in a lively household !

Premier inn. Basically somewhere as cheap as possible because I would usually only stay for a night or so.

Budget chain hotel usually. Once stayed in a yurt nearby!

There's a conference centre hotel on campus so I stay there. Feels like a real treat!

My parents were 2 hours away so came for the day only. Can’t imagine moving into their accommodation while they visited. If I was desperate for TLC I would get the train and go home. I was desperate to be independent though.
