Ideas for a stop between Harrogate and Oxford

We're driving from Harrogate back to Oxford this week and I'm looking for somewhere to stop half way for a few hours. Suitable for 2 small children with some food. I was going to stop at Sudbury hall but it's closed until next year!

Does anyone have any ideas?

If you're coming down the M1, then Hardwick Hall is National Trust, just off J29. Lovely grounds and gardens. Probably just under half way into your journey
