DH and I have been to Fallbarrow for the past 3 years and absolutely love it. The lodges are always clean and modern. We love being in the centre of Bowness but also a short drive to other parts of the lakes. Just a small example of what we look for in a holiday to give you an idea.

We fancy trying a different one of their parks but they seem to get mixed reviews on Facebook. Has anyone been to one and would recommend it? Ideally if NT places were near by that's a big plus. Happy to drive anywhere in the country.

Thank you!

Does it have to be Park Dean? We loved Haven Lakeland.

We have also stayed at Park Dean Whitley Bay and Regents Bay, both really lovely. Sundrum Castle was also good.

Never again would I go to Cresswell Towers or Weymss Bay both were revolting in every way possible.

We've just enjoyed a stay at the one in St Bees. Nothing actually on the camp but it's right on the beach, the town is walkable and the Lakes are easily accessible.

We've also been to the one on the IoW, which is much more of a family site with all the shows and clubs etc, and again the beach is walkable.

Sosigsandwich · 06/09/2021 14:15

Thank you both! Should have said... We have a holiday voucher for PDR hence waiting to go there, not just avid fans haha.

Sundrum castle looks lovely and is only 3 hours
from us. Was there much to do around there @Invisimamma?

Where is St Bees , @copernicium?

I wouldn't describe the Whitley Bay site as lovely. I thought it was very bleak and the vans are really crammed in close to each other. The surrounding area is nice and there's beach at the end of the road but the site itself didn't do anything for me I'm afraid.
White Cross Bay used to be a nice site but I've not been for years and it might be too close to where you've just been?

BalconiWaferAddict · 06/09/2021 14:41

We’re just on the way back from Thorness Bay on the IoW and massively recommend - we were surprised and so impressed with the site, static vans and facilities. It’s the quieter of the 3/4 parkdeans on the island which I think helps.

Loads to do and good weather, lots of NT on the island but definitely need to drive most places.

bubblebubblebubbletrouble · 06/09/2021 14:49

We were at Nodes Point in the Isle of Wight over the summer and really enjoyed it. Lots to do in the IoW.
I don't know the lakes though so can't say if the park would suit you.

copernicium · 06/09/2021 14:53

Oh sorry my mistake. Went to get you the link and it's hoseasons. It's Seacote Park.

gabbygabbygabby · 06/09/2021 14:54

We like camber sands

YessicaHaircut · 06/09/2021 14:56

We have been to Ruda in Croyde bay several times and love it. The site is nice and it’s right next to a gorgeous beach. It’s quite a small site and feels friendly and safe for families.

Sosigsandwich · 06/09/2021 15:14

@copernicium I'll have a look anyway... We do love Hoseasons lodges! Thank you.

Thank you all, it's good to know we have a few options.

I loved Cresswell towers ! Fairly basic in terms of a small entertainment venue and pool but nice and quiet and near a gorgeous beach (5 mins top walk) in Northumberland .
We also went to the one in Bridport in Dorset where broad church was filmed and that was lovely too

VienneseWhirligig · 06/09/2021 15:22

Ruda, all day long. We go there at least twice a year and have done for over 20 years.

Invisimamma · 06/09/2021 17:45

It's been a while since we stayed at Sundrum Castle so I don't rmeber much, the pool was good. It depends on what you like to do, Ayrshire has some lovely beaches, the Rabbie Burns museum, Heads of Ayr farm park, couple of crazy golf places, Culzean Castle, Kelburn estate, Country Parks.

Cresswell Towels was filthy, the pool was a health hazard and the accommodation was rank. We left early it was so bad. We complained and they did clean the van again but there was still excrement on the walls even after the cleaned! This was the prestige upgraded caravana as well.

Sosigsandwich · 06/09/2021 19:57

@Invisimamma WTAF?! That sounds horrendous. Did you get any of the money refunded?

OP posts:
Invisimamma · 07/09/2021 21:10

We the upgrade costs refunded but not the full holiday cost.

As I say we have been to lots of other Park Dean sites that were lovely. Whitley Bay was really good.
