Flying to Ayr in November for 3 nights. Plan to visit Turnberry lighthouse near Trumps resort and maybe see fireworks up in Kilwinning! Anything else anyone can recommend? Will have a car !

Second Culzean castle, check that is open. Burns birthplace cottage and visitors centre, also check that it’s open.

Another vote for Culzean Castle.

If you have children with you Heads of Ayr farm
Park is brilliant (but don’t bother if you haven’t Grin)

Agree with Culzean Castle.

Also interesting but maybe 25 minutes drive away is Dumfries House. Gorgeous grounds, interesting house, good playparks if you have kids, nice restaurant if you want to book a meal, usual cafe if not.

When are you going? Another vote for Culzean and maybe a boat trip to Ailsa Craig.

Thank you everyone. Just me and dh so will definitely visit the castle. The ferry to an island sounds beautiful. Looking forward to it even more now - thank you !
