Northern Ireland roadtrip

We (DH and I) are planning to do a 5 day/4 night trip to Northern Ireland.

It will be the first time to Northern Ireland for either of us - flying into Belfast and hiring a car. We have done some of EIRE previously.

Does anyone have any recommendations to make the most of the trip please?

We would like to see Derry, the Titanic Museum and Giant's Causeway but also things "off tourist trail".

Less interested in shopping but like pubs, villages, museums, art, history, scenic views - any hotel recommendations or driving routes would be awesome.

At moment we are thinking of flying into Belfast - heading to Derry and then driving back (taking in other sights) to Belfast for final day. Is this feasible?

What have I missed out for a short trip?

Many thanks

Going up from Belfast round the coast is a lovely trip. Make time to stop at the various villages on the coast, at the mouth of each of the Antrim Glens. The North Coast is good too. Go to Port Stewart.
If you are interested in the Game of Thrones, find out the locations used - there are bus tours, so check their routes.
Definitely the Titanic Museum. I was sceptical but it's excellent. The Botanic Gardens are nice for a walk, and there are cafes & pubs nearby. Maybe do the open-top bus tour, just for the commentary and the history (if you have time).
Its a lovely country - enjoy.

The Giants Causeway visitor centre is very good (has a cafe) but you can access the causeway without going in & paying, if you start from the other end Wink.
Bushmills Distillery is nearby.

The Mussenden Temple and the Black Glen, between Castlerock and Downhill.
Antrim coast road.

All these ideas are great, I second the open top bus tour in Belfast, I found it really informative for the history of "the troubles" and lots of great sights too.
