We are going to the West Midlands safari park and will be travelling back towards Exeter the next day. We are looking for somewhere family friendly to spend the day as part of our journey home. We have young kids so looking for something that will entertain them and isn't too far off our journey back. Thinking adventure park, somewhere to explore, amazing swimming pool? Any suggestions please

How old are the children? If they are little Dyrham Park near Bath has a lovely play area, or Tyntesfield near Bristol has a play trail in the woods that would be suitable for a more mix of ages.

I appreciate this isn't Slimbridge or Dyrham but you could do far worse than including Gloucester Services in your journey!

@321zyx I was just going to suggest planning a stop there too actually stopped there on the way back from Birmingham today, it's lovely. It was very busy though, so maybe avoid peak lunch hour. Would be nice for a tea and cake stop in the afternoon though.

Agree with the others' suggestion of Slimbridge as the best option for somewhere to spend a bit of time/get some fresh air

They're all under 5 so both sound like good options!

And yep, already got Gloucester services on my list will be a highlight for sure 🤪
