Isle of Wight

We are off to the Isle of Wight in a couple of weeks. Me, dp and ds14. Staying near Ryde.
We have a few things planned - boat ride around the needles, carisbrooke castle, a couple of meals out……I want to make it a really good holiday for my ds who missed out on a couple of school trips this past year.
Does anyone have any secret must do’s? Any good skateparks about? Any restaurants you’d recommend?

The Heron in Ryde is a recommended new restaurant, I am going to try to get there before the end of the holidays, also Michael Angelo's. For restaurant reviews on IOW look up Matt and Cat's FB page. Ryde skate park atm is closed I believe, but Wight Trash skate shop will be able to help with skate parks. Cowes and Newclose park have operating s8 parks, also Jon Cattle runs an indoor one in Wootton. Enjoy your holiday.

Wight karting at Westridge near Ryde is good and Tapnell Farm on the other side of the island have a new aqua splash park.

There is a skate board park in Sandown behind the crazy golf. Nice pub in Sandown as well called the caulk heads

The Duck is one of the best restaurants.
