The SUP hut in mumbles does a 1 hour lesson (stand up paddle boarding) for 22 pounds. I recently had a lesson with my friend and wetsuits are provided. There is a lovely cafe restaurant on the seafront (Verdi’s) where you can watch and enjoy a coffee or a wine 😊

Maggiesfarm · 21/07/2021 18:32

Oh lovely, I envy you. Have good time!

tywysoges · 21/07/2021 18:37

Are they into nature sort of stuff? In the last week or so, there have been sightings of bioluminescent plankton in Gower. You need to be up super late, but we’ll worth it if you can see it. Just need the weather to hold as they like it warm.

tywysoges · 21/07/2021 18:37

*well, not we’ll Blush

Northernsoullover · 21/07/2021 18:38

If you don't mind an hours travel see if you can get into Zip World (the South Wales one)

Oh my gosh! My daughter has been talking about that. That would be amazing. But how would I know where to see them??

This Facebook group seems to show live updates on the bioluminescence. www.facebook.com/groups/182734892412764/?ref=share

tywysoges · 21/07/2021 22:30

Yes, this group is amazing. Looking at the previous days’ thread will give you an idea of where it’s appearing but keep an eye on the actual daily thread for the day you’re going, it will give you the best shot at finding it. Aberavon (Port Talbot) and Three Cliffs (Gower) seem to be the most popular spots at the moment.

FlyingFlamingo · 21/07/2021 22:31

Bodyboarding/surfing at Caswell or Llangennith (Progress surf school do lessons there)

Rhossili beach/Worms Head

Three Cliffs - walk from Parkmill or Southgate

If the forecast is correct and you need to hide from the rain try the LC and the Waterfront Museum - they are next to each other, you’d have to book both

Indoor climbing in the Climbing Hanger or Dynamic Rock

Swansea Adventures have just started offering kayak or SUP lessons on the Lliw Reservoir

Archery at Perriswood near Oxwich

Enjoy and explore, you won’t find better beaches!

Great suggestions, thank you! Will look into them. I'm conscious Saturday is likely to be very rainy, so I'm hoping to get a beach in on Friday, then perhaps a long nature walk on Saturday.

You must have a Joe's ice cream.

FlyingFlamingo · 22/07/2021 07:00

No! You must have a Verdi’s ice cream Grin
spiderlight · 22/07/2021 10:36

Joe's!! I mean, yes, have a Verdi's as well, but you cannot do Swansea/Mumbles and not have a Joe's.

GiveUsACoffee · 22/07/2021 11:12

Hey, we'll have both! Potentially more than once each 😋
