Londoners - going to London with 19 yr old dd for birthday trip. Good cocktail bar?

We are leaving this evening and staying over at the Cavendish in Jermyn street to get a full day tomorrow. I realise we are insane to go now in sweltering temperatures.

Any suggestions for a good cocktail bar close to where we are staying in Jermyn Street for tonight please?

Also recommendations for good places to eat (rather than just chains like Bryons etc) would be greatly appreciated

Freud Bar on Shaftesbury Avenue is good for cocktails

Go to carnaby st, kingly court has loads of lovely places to eat and drink.

Hawksmoor in swallow/air Street is just the other side of Piccadilly and does great cocktails

Radio bar at the top of the ME is fun

Check out the Fogg residence bars, there are lots of different ones, with different decor and themes.

Or you can’t beat Evans and Peel Detective Agency.

Just seen you’re not close to E&P but definitely check out Cahoots on Kingly Court or one of the other Fogg places.

Be At One is great for cocktails! Gaucho or Quaglino’s is lovely for dinner too.

Dinner I’d go Yauatcha.

Aqua bar in the shard. Great views, don't need to book and you aren't paying the viewing platform fee at the top of the shard.

Correction: aqua bar is best to book if eating, but not if just doing to the bar.

Definitely Brasserie Zedel - I’d forgotten about them.

Quaglinos also great - a bit more sophisticated than zedel
Kingly court is younger and trendier
