Booked into a hotel in the centre of Cardiff for 1 night next week, so will actually spend two days in the city. I've booked Cardiff Castle tickets, but nothing else.
Its dh, me and 12 year old ds. happy to do parks, hire bikes maybe? Any wet weather activities to consider?
And any recommendations for good lunches and dinners - but not too posh!

St Fagans - outdoor museum, National Museum in city centre, bike hire - think there is Pedal Power in Sophia Gardens, and Nextbike have small bike hire stations all around the city - you could cycle along the Taff trail. Loads of parks - Bute Park, Pontcanna Fields, Roath Park, or go down the Bay - you can go on a boat from by the Castle, or loads of boat trips in the bay itself.

Ooh a boat trip is a great idea .And yes I've looked at Bute park and I think we should do that, looks like you can cycle round it.

Yes, you can cycle through/ around Bute Park. The Aquabus goes from Bute Park, near the castle, down to the Bay. Loads of places to eat there! Hope the weather is good for you!
