I’ll be in Surrey for a week and want a day out with my 10yo daughter. Recommendations please. Chessington, Legoland or Thorpe Park?

Chessington mixes big rides, shows, a zoo and sealife centre. So unless she’s a big adrenaline junky, I’d do Chessington.

What Fivemoreminutes said!

Definitely not Legoland

I agree with chessington. We live about an hour away from all of them so have been quite a few times. Ds wants to go to legoland for his birthday and dd went to Thorpe park for hers last week. Chessington is great though, we've done it the most out of all of them.

DD1 (12yo) would have DD2 (9 and quite small for her age) believe there’s a 140cm minimum height restriction on a lot of rides at Thorpe Park. Could just be that she didn’t want her tagging along though! And might not be relevant to you anyway.

Yes all the decent rides at Thorpe park have a 140cm height restriction.

Agree with pps. Chessington is definitely best for this age - and really good fun.

Thorpe Park is more for teens with several more mature-themed rides.

Legoland is ok for a 10 year old if they’ve never been (especially if they are into Lego so will enjoy the models) but the rides are more targeted to younger kids.

I agree with chessington, though I’ve not be for years. Thorpe is geared more towards teens and young adults and at 10 he’d probably find most of the rides at lrgoland a bit babyish.

Legoland.

I took a 9 and 11 year olds to legoland and they had a good time, I think it depends on how ‘grown up’ they are and whether they want really fast rides, there are some YouTube videos of the parks that you could watch to get an idea of what they’re like.

Chessington is definitely very good for that age. Thorpe park more for teens.
