Where to go on holiday with a 9 month old?

We are looking to go away somewhere in the UK for a few days in September time. It's me, my partner and our baby will be 8/9 months old by then.

Any reccomendations for where to go with plenty to do to keep the LO entertained?

I live near London so ideally somewhere not too far as we'll be driving, although happy to travel a bit of course!

My first thought is Cornwall but would love some more ideas!

A 9 month old doesn’t need entertainment.
At that age, go where you want, baby is portable.
Maybe a soft play centre nearby, a beach (maybe not in September!)?

Check out Sands hotel in Newquay. We have been there a few times. It's brilliant for families.

London to Newquay would be a complete nightmare with a 9 month old. Could you go somewhere like Southampton/New Forest so there is plenty for you to do as a couple? A baby that young would just be happy people watching whilst in its buggy.

Babies that age don't need entertaining, you do! You need a hotel where someone cooks for you, tidies up after you, maybe even babysits or listens on a monitor for your baby while you eat in peace downstairs. Apart from that, a nice lawn to play on rather than sand, which could get in a baby's eyes or mouth and upset them.

A nice spa hotel with a babysitting service or an airbandb in an area you'd like to explore. What do you like to do as I agree your baby will still be delighted by you at that age (and sea gulls, dogs, cows etc along the way)? Cotswolds is close for walking, Bath and Bristol both have lots of cultural / restaurant options, south coast walking and beaches - all within a couple of hours drive.
