Anywhere of particular interest for US visitor

We will have a young American man visiting in the summer.
We live in the Midlands and will take him to Stratford on Avon and London.
Is there anywhere you think might be interesting to visit with him?

The Black Country Museum, Cadbury World, Severn Valley Railway, cycle the Tissington Trail, Aztec Adventure, Go Ape, Warwick Castle.. 🤔

What does he like? Rolling green countryside (Shropshire better bet than the Lakes at the mo)? Castles? Battlefields? Mountains? Hadrian’s Wall? Liverpool for the Beatles trail? Ironbridge for the Industrial Revolution? Portmeirion for The Prisoner? Harry Potter Studios? Canals?

What are his family roots. Does he have a link to the UK - did great great granny come from a random place in the UK? If yes that would be an interesting trip to do.

Bettys tea room in York? Very English!

Bristol - Clifton suspension bridge, Concorde museum, the harbourside

York, Durham, Northumberland castles eg Bamburgh and the island of Lindisfarne.

A lot of US visitors I have known wanted to go to Liverpool - 'the home of the Beatles' - and to visit the Manchester United ground.

How old is he and what are his interests? Stratford probably isn't the most interesting place for a young man. Most would be more interested in Manchester and Liverpool for the music and football (soccer) history.

Nottingham - Robin Hood links, Leicester/bosworth for Richard iii, plus space centre is good. But what are his interests

If he's 18-20 just hit Wetherspoons, he'll love it!

Science museum, a theme park like Alton Towers or Thorpe Park.

Get him to try different foods: fish and chips, twigletts, scone and Cream?

How old is he and where is he from in the states?

Oxford, Cambridge. York, Cornwall, Lake District, Edinburgh

York is great. So much to do there, lots of history and Britishness.
Beamish is great for going back in time.

You could visit Cambridge, popping in for a drink at The Eagle in Bene't Street (with its fascinating connection to WW2 American pilots) and take in the Imperial War Museum at Duxford. A great way to discover more of the two countries' shared history.

I had a 20yo American man come to visit (family friends nephew). A day trip from London to Stonehenge and Bath was good as it covers quite a few periods of history.

Firstly what does he want to see and do?
He might not be interested in History?
I would look at some of the places the Americans don't automatically head for as I feel we can offer much more.
How about a few days in Liverpool its a top night out with loads going on or Chester as this could be used for a base to visit the Lakes or North Wales, I feel a few days touring North Wales would be good but it all depends on what he wants to do?
I feel Ludlow might an alternative to Chester?
