Alton Towers with older teens?

Will they enjoy it? We’ve not been to many theme parks (Florida once when they were younger).

They’re three boys 19,16 and 14.

We’re based in Scotland so can go before the English schools break up. I thought 2 days maximum.

What do people think?

Yes it's great for all ages they'll love it

Yep, they'll love it. The water park (seperate tickets) will be too young for them though.

Get there early (ready for the gates to open), tell them to go straight to the rides they really want to do, (assuming they won't be going round with you) - Smiler, Oblivion, Wickerman usually have the longest queues, so are the ones you should hit first.

Make sure they take water bottles, teens suck at rehydrating and they'll be out and about all day!

I would have thought one day would be enough, tbh. DD (16) went with friends yesterday - got there when it opened at 10, left when it closed at 6. That was enough time for them to queue for all of the big rides, and they weren't interested in doing any of the smaller ones which we had taken our DDs on, on previous visits when they were 10-14 ish.

Brilliant thanks! It’s a 5 hour journey so I thought 2 or 3 nights to make it worthwhile. Is there anything else we could add on for a day? I’m thinking of the train (and then taxi) from Edinburgh rather than driving.

Waterworld is close by and has recently expanded with nee rides.

They certainly used to do an offer where you could come back the following day at a discount - you could book as you were leaving. If they still do that, you could always keep your options open and see whether they've done everything they want to on Day 1? Queue lengths do vary a lot and I remember someone saying that it can get very busy just before the start of the English school holidays with school groups on end of term reward trips etc.

As well as Waterworld, it's near enough the Peak District for a walk or bike hire etc if they like outdoor stuff, but obviously that's less easy without a car.
