last minute holiday Dungeness - where to stay?

MH not the best at the moment so haven't planned in advance and could really do with a good dose of nature. I want to walk around Dungeness a lot. Which of the surrounding towns is good to stay in and easy to get to Dungeness from for a non-driver?

Rye is lovely - you can get there by train and then the 102 bus ('The Wave') to Folkestone goes via Dungeness. Hythe is also lovely and is on the same bus route, though does not have its own train station (nearest is Sandling but Folkestone would be easier for onward travel). If you stayed in Lydd (no station but again on bus route 102) you'd be within walking distance of parts of the Dungeness NNR though it'd be quite a hike to Dungeness village itself.
