Is it worth getting travel insurance for holidays in the UK

Particularly ones we have booked ourselves eg Airbnb accommodation etc. Most things covered already eg nhs for health, phones and computers under house contents insurance, car under car insurance. Am I missing a reason why you might want holiday insurance for uk holidays?

I'd only take insurance out within the Uk to cover the eventuality of having to cancel (for example through ill health) and not receiving a refund. Depends how much you'd potentially lose and what the standard cancellation terms are though.

cancellation is the main one. And I suppose think about getting home if you were hospitalised, or couldn't drive - the latter may be covered under your breakdown policy.

make sure your stuff is covered for being out of the house under your home insurance (I know mine isn't).

It's included in our annual travel insurance policy, although I'm not sure when we would actually use it.
