Day trip with children within 2 hours from Leicester

Hello, I have two children (7 months and a nearly two year old). I want to go on a day trip somewhere, potentially the beach. Any suggestions of anywhere we could spend the day? :)

I don't think you'll get to a beach from Leicester in under 2 hours. Skegness is saying 2hr 20min on google maps (depending on where are you in Leicester that could be more or less) but that will be in quiet traffic conditions.
