Sea Swimming in Salcombe in late June

Will I need a wetsuit do you think? I appreciate we won't know the exact weather until nearer the time but historically, would I need one?

And if you happen to be a sea swimmer who lives in Salcombe, is there a swimming group that meets up regularly that I could maybe join while I am there for a few days? Smile

TIA

A wetsuit in Devon in June? No, you certainly don't need a wetsuit. it's going to be about 14 deg sea temp in June, pretty balmy.

Can't hurt to throw one in the suitcase! At that time of year in Devon, I generally go in without though, or with a thin neoprene rashie on over my swimsuit.

It totally depends on what you're used to. Some people are skins year-round! Check out the Outdoor Swimming Society (website/FB) for local groups.

Thank you for the replies. I don't own a full wet suit, only a shortie which I'll definitely take with me.

And thanks for the name of the website; I'll check it out now.

OP you did not see some of the swimmers I saw in Exmouth in December! The young women and one probably in her thirties had swimwear so tiny I could tell things that only should be known about in the bedroom.
