Dorset near beach and country?

So as it looks less likely we can travel abroad this year, I'm now looking at maybe Dorset for a holiday? Can anyone recommend an area to stay in near a young child friendly sandy beach and beautiful countryside? My children are 4 and 2. Thank you

Bridport/West Bay/Charmouth/Lyme Regis.

West Bay beach is a good sandy beach for families and some of the nearby villages such as Shipton Gorge are perfect.

dorset is lovely. if you like it a bit quieter then maybe swanage, or a bit busier bournemouth/christchurch.

We had a cottage in Shipton Gorge 2 years ago. It was amazing. There was a fab park and a lovely pub in the village.

Definitely prefer quieter but would love to visit Bournemouth too. These places sound lovely. Thank you

West bay is lovely, washingpool farm is a nice place to stay, however the beach is shingle, not sand.
Lyme Regis has soft sand.

If you are unsuccessful in Dorset consider Exmouth or Seaton in Devon.
