Need to name my new airbnb!

We have a very striking architect designed house on a country lane (in its own grounds) with a one bed basement/underbuild annexe. It is accessed along the side of our property and down a few steps. So it is partially underground. It has a private seating area/patio up a few steps and trees overhanging. The area is very picturesque and wooded. Not far from a river, viaduct and canal - but maybe too far to include them in the title. It's all brand new and v stylish inside and out. We have decided to turn it into an airbnb but I need a name for it. All suggestions most welcome Smile

Ideas (mainly from the kids):
the dell
the garden room
the hollow
the hideaway
the retreat
owl quarry (we have a lot of owls and it is an old old quarry!)

you get the idea.....

Thank you x

The Bunker

I wouldn't worry too much about the rabbit thing, any small animal can burrow, including foxes and badgers. I think burrow clearly evokes 'underground' which is one of the USPs of your property. I like The Hide too, but I would be expecting more of an isolated property, not an annexe. 'Badgers Set' could be another one...

Maybe to sound more stylish - The Burrow at xxx
This one!
MrsMcTats · 01/04/2021 14:32

Haha, sorry think it's Badgers ( no apostrophe) Sett Grin

SummerInSun · 01/04/2021 14:33

Isn't The Burrow the name of Ron's family's house in Harry Potter?

I like the Owl ones. Throw in an owl themed cushion and a couple of mugs with owls on them.

Reusername · 01/04/2021 15:32

So, the quarry is just named after our village. It is very historic and has hidden tunnels. We are very obviously sited in a quarry - the high stone walls surrounding our house always astonish people.

Re the owl - I'm not sure we think it might be a tawny but apparently someone also keeps an eagle owl nearby!!

We are very hard to find down a track (with other houses) so we are hidden away (especially behind our big wooden electric gates). But once onto the property the space is quite open. Although as I say the annexe is private down a little side path - not really overlooked. Trees hanging over from the footpath next to it.

A bit of a survey:

if you are looking for a lovely, designer place to get away with DH/partner what do these words say to you? I'd be interested in what images they evoke. I don't want to mis- sell our place.

Looks wonderful OP

I love ‘the burrow at owl quarry’ but might it be too long?

Owl quarry on its own is also evocative. You’re making me wish for a romantic weekend now!

Reusername · 01/04/2021 20:56

I think we could all do with one penguin

This one! Strong Harry Potter vibes without being too overt, and also makes me think of Winnie the Pooh for some reason. It sounds cosy and welcoming. Also Burrowing Owls are a thing, although not in the UK.

You're too kind. Today the original owner came round a told us there is a Roman tunnel under that patio Shock and ruins under our entrance drive!

Roszie · 02/04/2021 19:33

I don't like owl anything as we've got a couple in the garden and they are noisy fuckers. I wouldn't book anywhere if I knew it had them.

IstandwithJackieWeaver · 02/04/2021 19:54

The Burrow - no need for anything else. Looks lovely from outside.
