Or somewhere else nearish to Liverpool. We are planning a few nights in Liverpool. I like the look of Pembrokeshire but it’s too far from Scotland I think...

Where to go with teenage boys? Our half term differs from the English /Welsh one so it shouldn’t be too busy.

Thanks!

Liverpool is fab.
Conwy is nice. Not so keen on llandudno. There's a zip wire place in snowdonia and a surfing lake.

FlyingFlamingo · 25/03/2021 22:00

Definitely Zip World, and Bala or Llyn Padarn for watersports.

Great thanks! What’s Anglesey like?

I’d definitely recommend Snowdonia with teens, not least because of Zip World as mentioned above. The adventure park is amazing, especially the surfing! www.adventureparcsnowdonia.com

Liverpool is excellent
I would take the kids on a power boat trip around the docks, they will show you Albert dock etc from the water and if you are up for it parts of the dock have no speed limit so they will take you on a fast run, its fantastic.

North Wales.
How do I begin, something for every one really, its compact too so not driving for hours, heres a few to be going on with, remember its under 60 mins drive from Liverpool so not far
Conwy its a Medieval walled town, loads to see and do locally via bus or short drive

Llandudno is very nice

If you drive this route look at the seals at Angel Bay as they should have pups, but dont venture on to the beach stay on the cliff top.

The Conwy Valley is spectacular Bodnant Gardens, and a Go ape thing,
Go to Betws y coed to see Fairy Glen Its 30 mins from Conwy

I just wanted to say thanks so much for all that brilliant information. I’ve booked a lovely house in Conwy. We will go to
Liverpool on the way down. It will be a big change from our usual middle of nowhere trip in the wilds of Scotland, but they were pretty bored doing that last time even if we loved it!

Glad you are sorted.
In Liverpool, best food places are in or just off Bold street, near the bombed out church, or Lark Lane near Sefton Park a short drive out of the city.
When in Wales
Best place for Fish and Chips, its a place in Llandudno Junction a short drive from Conwy

Don't forget to report back and let us know what you thought.

Portmeirion is worth a visit, also if they like trains the Ffestiniog Railway may still be operating in October.
