i live in Halifax the nice parts are Norton Tower 1930s suburbia vibe, Saville Park and outer edges like Luddenden Foot, Hebden Bridge Mytholmroyd and Todmorden has some nice parts but look for houses up the hill parts as bottom part prone to flooding from the canal and river that runs through the valley bottom, North and southowram nice areas too , shibden valley where gentleman jack anne lister lived has fab views from the houses on the left of the valley, the town centre is small but not bad, good train connections to manchester one way and leeds and the south the other way, M62 fifteen minutes out of town

but yes like any other small town there are parts that are not nice Pellon lane area still a lot of Victorian back to back cheap rent lets . kings cross area the same, Mixenden is a mix of very posh houses in the old village and very cheap council housing in the centre but two very good junior schools
