Can someone please explain a London bus map to me

Or just tell me which bus(es) to get from Kings Cross to the Natural History museum.

I've downloaded the bus map from the TFL website and there is the map of London with numbers at various points. So I'm presuming that these are bus numbers I can catch. But why are some in boxes and some not?

If I had to take a guess I would think I need bus 30 to Marble Arch, then get a 74. Am I right? TIA.

get a tube or i think a 10 might go all the way.

The ones in boxes are bus route terminus, I believe.

Might take the tube, just thought that the bus might be a nice way of seeing a bit of London at the same time. Maybe not worth it though, thanks.

Will check the journey planner bit out as well.
