Looking for a UK hotel stay in the UK in July. Two adults, 2 grown up children and 14 year old dd.

Have thought of Cornwall but looks like it will be rammed!

Dd hates walking and sight seeing, ideally we want a coastal hotel with a pool.

Any recommendations please?

Watersmeet Hotel in Devon

There is not much available anywhere. Inland more chance than coastal.

Two pools and views of beach and sea, so no walking required

Its a difficult one really as the UK has so many different places to see.
I think Wales is a good option, the North we feel has a bit more to see and do, it has plenty of Fish Chips and Bingo but also some very upmarket places and Tranquil spots all depends on what you want.
I am sat here and can see Wales in the distance but we cant cross the border!
Hotels with a pool are not as common as its a headache to manage but they do exist.
Have you thought about Conwy? Smaller version of Tenby its a Medieval walled town, loads to see and do locally via bus or short drive
www.donthibernate.co.uk/conwy/
Its a fantastic base for seeing the area as loads to see and do within 30 mins drive, Snowdonia is only down the road.

Llandudno is very a nice Victorian resort about 15 mins drive but its a regular bus route, has some large hotels that may have a pool?

The Conwy Valley is spectacular Bodnant Gardens, and a Go ape thing,
Go to Betws y coed to see Fairy Glen Its 30 mins from Conwy
www.donthibernate.co.uk/betws-y-coed/
Up to the Falls Cafe for excellent food and a walk around the SSI and water falls and you can book on this

Aber Falls and Distillery again only a short drive.

Thank you @Funf that’s really helpful. Like the look of both North and South!

Do you know much about the south? I like the look of the Brecon Beacons for the waterfalls and also Pembrokeshire. And I want to visit Barry Island for obvious reasons 😂

Oxwich Bay hotel (no pool but next to the sea). About an hour from Barry island and a bit more to Brecon.

Or lots of choice for a hotel with a pool around Cardiff and very easy day trips to Barry and the Beacons?

Notavegan · 07/03/2021 19:05

There are a few hotels in Cardiff with a pool. St David's is the poshest. Overlooks cardiff bay. The novotel is nice, and the mercury is ok. On a busy road. There are others too. Out of town the vale resort and of course the Celtic manor, but would need to drive everywhere. St brides hotel supposed to be nice if you want to go to Pembrokeshire. Nant Ddu in the Brecon beacons is another bet, but out in the wilds a bit. Would need a car. What does your daughter want to do? Cardiff is good for shopping lockdown permitting.

As the North is so near to home we know it quite well, we feel it has so much diversity and something for everyone and quite close together..
Water Falls???

That sounds great @Funf thank you.

Provisionally booked a hotel in Tenby for 3 nights, we might spend a few days around Cardiff first.

One year we spent a week in Wales and another in London. Teens loved it. London might not be ideal this year though, with Covid still lurking.
