Recommendations for solo short break

As soon as we are allowed to I'm looking to do a short break (3-4 days) on my own in the UK - hotel but happy for it to be a Premier Inn. Any recommendations for small cities or towns with some nice walks, pubs, shops etc? I'm in the south east and travel is not a problem though I would prefer not more than 2-3 hours. I went to Exeter and Marlow last year between lockdowns and have already done Oxford and Cambridge, Canterbury, Whitstable, Chichester and Winchester.

I live very close to Brighton so that would be a bit of a waste. I've been to Bath and Salisbury a number of times. I like Southwold (visited once a long time ago) and Chester (ditto) so they might be a goer. Going to York later in the year and Edinburgh and Durham are too far. Hadn't thought of the IoW.

I have been to Portsmouth lots but not Southampton. Anyone know if it's worth a visit? There look to be some lovely hotels near the cruise terminal.

Southampton is nice for shopping and there’s the titanic museum (SeaCity). The nearby New Forest is lovely and there are some beautiful spa hotels there.

Isle of Wight is beautiful and very scenic. Better for cycling and walking than shopping.

York, Chester, Shrewsbury, Ludlow Liverpool
All depends on what you want and how far you will travel we once went to Cyprus for the weekend!
