Holidays similar to centre parcs

Hi
About 6 years ago myself and dc went to centre parcs with my sister for a weekend (her treat). Ever since then dc have asked to go back there. Ds really enjoyed the paddle boarding and we all liked that it was much more chilled than a Butlins.

When we were there I let the dc choose 1 paid for activity per day plus then we used the swimming pool etc.

Is there anywhere similar in the uk (forest setting, no dodgy evening entertainment, can chill or do activities, nice pool) without it costing the earth like a trip to centre parcs?

We have been to haven but (unless I have picked the wrong ones) they aren't the same...please help if you know somewhere.

Live in East Anglia but willing to drive!

Bluestone is fantastic. A long way from East Anglia though (certainly for a weekend). But fab if you’re looking at a week.

The ridiculously named Sandy Balls is great. Pool not as good but the rest is.

Place marking too. Finding a cheapish but not dire holiday is always a challenge! We went to tuckenhay mill in Dorset which was fab, amazing pools and facilities and lovely area. Best we’ve had, let me know what you think!

The Bay Talland is lovely. They don't do activities, but all of the accommodation is gorgeous and there is a pool. Plus it is in Cornwall.

Oooh that's not even an hour from me hadn't thought of there and I went when I was younger 🤦‍♀️...just goes to show you don't appreciate what is (literally) on your doorstep!!

Love Cornwall and I have family there. Apparently last summer it was the busiest it's ever been with everyone having uk breaks after lockdown 1 so might shelve that idea until next year!

Did anyone else snigger at the Tuckenhay Mill pool?

Am I missing something rude?! Not like me! We did enjoy it thoIt’s brilliant, loads of knobs to press which make fountains and waterfalls to suprise bored kids. there’s 2 other pools too.

BlowDryRat · 22/02/2021 22:08

@Whaa it is a bit knob shaped...

Whaa · 23/02/2021 01:13

Lol! It took me a while but I’ve just seen that! Sadly the water jets aren’t at that end!
