talk to me about Suffolk

Me and DH - hopefully - planning a couple of short breaks in the UK early summer and I've always liked the look of Suffolk but literally never set foot in it. We'd do SC accommodation, and like country walks, pub lunches, nice gardens etc.
Any suggestions for areas in the county that would suit us? Might like a choice of restaurants in the evening. TIA

Lavenham or Woodbridge spring to mind as reasonable places to start. Woodbridge is a fairly large riverside market town - plenty of restaurants, pubs, places to walk etc. Lavenham is more countryside and is v picturesque; lots of lovely villages around, a good selection of pubs etc. Other possibilities might be Bury St Eds - lovely town, loads to do but I don't know how much SC accom there is; or Long Melford - nice large village but I don't know so much about the immediate area.

Aldeburgh.

Beautiful town with good restaurants and cafes, lovely shops.

Easy reach of Southwold, Walberswick, Woodbridge, Sutton Hoo. Snape.

Southwold is a bit Chelsea on Sea in the summer, can’t move for tourists and cars but it is lovely and worth a visit. Ditto Aldeburgh. Lovely range of shops, pubs, restaurants, country walks etc. Just make sure you book a cottage with its own parking because you won’t get parked in the summer.

I live 10 mins away from Southwold - it's lovely! Aldeburgh is also lovely.
